[edit] Can I exit back to the DS-Xtreme menu without restarting?
No. Once an application is running the DS-Xtreme's OS is not longer running, this is to ensure the best possible compatibility.

You have enabled "Instant boot" enabled. Hold the "A" button down while your DS-X starts and then turn off "Instant boot" from within the settings menu of your DS-Xtreme.
[edit] I've put my apps and music in the root of my DS-X but can't see them in the menu
Either turn off "Preset Directories" in your DS-X's Settings menu or make sure you put your apps in the folder called 'apps', and music in the folder called 'music'.
[edit] I've been deleting files, but it doesn't free up space on the disk as expected
Your deleted files are being kept in the Trash. With the DSX mounted on your computer, simply empty the OS' trash as you would with any other files.

Save the .pls or .m3u file from your favorite stream to your DS-Xtreme and open the file with DSOrganize

[edit] This new skin I've tried doesn't work how do I revert back to the default one?
Hold down 'B' while the DS-Xtreme starts to force the DS-Xtreme's default skin to load. Then change your skin in the Settings menu.
