  1. Plug your DS-Xtreme into a computer
  2. Does the USB cable 'click in'?
    1. Do the lights illuminate?
    2. Make sure it's not in your DS
    3. Try another USB cable/computer/USB port
  3. Does your PC detect your DS-X as a removable device?
    1. Does your computer ask for drivers? -> Open a ticket in the Support tracker
    2. Does your "Device Manager" show your DS-X as "unknown device" or "DVB-T USB BDA firmware loader"? -> Open a ticket in the Support tracker
    3. Try a low level format of your DS-X
    4. Try another USB cable/computer/USB port
  4. Load the updater tool (DO NOT update it yet)
  5. Does it show that you have the latest version?
    1. Upgrade to the latest version -> upgrade instructions here
  6. Does the updater say "unknown version"?
    1. Unplug your DS-X and re-run the updater. If it still says "unknown version" then disable all USB hubs
    2. Try another computer.
  7. Copy a .nds file to the apps folder in your DS-X
  8. Did the file copy ok?
    1. Format your DS-X FAT32 and retry
    2. Try another USB cable/computer/USB port
  9. Unplug your DS-X from your computer
  10. Plug it into your DS and power it up
  11. Does your DS detect or start your DS-X?
    1. Try the papertrick
    2. Try a low level format of your DS-X
    3. Copy just the latest skin files to your DS-X
    4. Try filling up your DS-X until it is at least full before formatting it again.
  12. Does the DS-X light flash once as it starts?
  13. Does the DS-X menus load?
    1. Hold down "A" while your DS-X loads to disable "Instant Boot"
    2. Hold down "B" while your DS-X loads to disable any custom skin
  14. Does the "apps" menu display the .nds file you copied to the DS-X?
    1. Go to your DS-X's Settings disable 'Preset Directories' and reboot your DS-X
  15. Start the "app". Does it run?
    1. Search Google for DS-X compatibility to see if others are having the same problem
    2. Wait for fix
    3. In the Skins menu select the OS1.0 skin, then start the "app" again. (reported to help)
